How is it that sunshine can really lift your mood? This past week we have had a glimpse of spring with wonderful blue skies and warm sunshine. Even on the cold and windy days there have been moments of bright warm sunshine that have ushered in the hope of better days and spring growth.
Sunlight to me is like a tonic. It lifts us out of the dark cold winter months and brings hope for warmth and growth. These fleeting moments over the last week have really given me the motivation to get productive and breathed new life into everything I do.
Reading through some recent design inspiration blogs, neon sunbeam is said to be the colour of the season. This bright yellow hue inspires us to reignite our passion and radiates warmth and energy.
Yet this time of year the climate is so unpredictable. At the moment some days we can have all four seasons in one day! As I looked out my office window the other day I thought for a moment that it was snowing but it was only the blossom from a large tree blowing in the wind. The combination of warm sunshine to freezing cold and damp the next can be really confusing, especially in what to wear when you leave the house! Everything is so unpredictable a the moment.
This notion has taught me that my emotions and mood can not be navigated by the weather. That would just be exhausting. But we can take these glimpses of brighter moments and choose to see beyond our current circumstances and trust that regardless, the seasons will change and things are set to get even brighter.
This months colour palette is taken from the pastels of the season from the neon sunbeam yellow associated with creativity and growth, the creams and pinks of blossom, through to the vitality of green and finally the fresh sky blue.
